What to Include in Your Bid Request

Building Dimensions

Describe overall building width, length, and wall height. These measurements help us size your trusses correctly and plan for bearing conditions.

Truss Specifications

Span, pitch, overhang, spacing (typically 24" OC), and heel height. If you have engineered drawings, include those as well.

Load Requirements

Snow load zone, special wind ratings, any concentrated loads (HVAC units, solar panels, etc.). Local building codes determine minimum loads.

Project Timeline

When you need trusses delivered, project start date, any phasing requirements. Early planning ensures we can meet your schedule.

Common Truss Types

Each truss type is designed for specific structural and architectural needs.

Fink Truss

The most common residential truss. W-shaped web pattern provides excellent load distribution.

Howe Truss

Vertical webs in compression, diagonal webs in tension. Good for moderate spans.

Pratt Truss

Opposite of Howe — diagonal webs in compression. Used in longer spans.

Scissor Truss

Creates a vaulted ceiling effect. Bottom chord slopes upward toward the center.

ROOM

Attic Truss

Designed with a usable room space within the truss. Great for bonus rooms.

Mono Truss

Single slope, like half a triangle. Used for additions, porches, and shed roofs.
